Arbutus Grove Nursery Ltd. is a modern greenhouse/nursery facility located on the Saanich Peninsula on southern Vancouver Island. This family operation began in 1980 on 5 acres of land growing 250,000 western hemlock for a single customer. Since then the nursery has grown to include 25 acres of greenhouses and a modern cold storage facility. We now have the capacity to grow approximately 8 million seedlings a year in the nursery and store 20,000 boxes in our cold storage facility. Although this is still small compared to other nurseries in the Pacific Northwest, we are large enough to compete with anyone and small enough to appreciate our customers individual service needs. Our customer base now includes companies from as far south as Oregon and as far north as the Queen Charlotte Islands. We have been slowly expanding and improving our nursery and cultural practices for over 20 years here at Arbutus Grove Nursery. We are focused on growing the best seedlings possible for a competitive price. In addition we are striving to be the market leaders in customer service. This means we take a pro-active approach to our customer relations, visiting planting sites, taking quality assurance samples of all our stock, reporting crop problems immediately if they occur, and always keeping an open mind to ways we can improve.
