The Washington State Society of American Foresters is proud to announce that it will hold its Annual Convention on May 12-14, 2016, at Maple Hall in La Conner, Washington. The historic waterfront village of La Conner is in Skagit County on the Swinomish Channel, close by the internationally known tulip and daffodil flower fields on the Skagit Flats. The theme of this year’s conference is “A Walk Through The Woods.”

Regular ($195 early-bird by April 23) and student ($75 early-bird) registration fee includes attendance at the full meeting, refreshments, Thursday icebreaker, and Friday breakfast, lunch, and Awards Banquet. The cost for the Saturday breakfast is $10/person and the Saturday field trip is $35/person, which includes lunch, beverage, and transportation.
Spouse registration is $100 and includes the same items as a regular registration. The Saturday breakfast and field trip are separate ticketed items.
The early-bird deadline is April 23. After this date, an additional $30 fee is assessed. Purchase orders, checks, and VISA/MasterCard accepted. Checks should be made payable to North Puget Sound SAF Chapter and mailed to: WSSAF Annual Meeting, c/o SAF Northwest Office, 4033 SW Canyon Rd., Portland, OR 97221. Tax id # 23-7065210.

Parking Pass
Click here for parking passes for the May 12 and 13 events at Maple Hall. The passes are only good for the town-owned parking lot on Second Street. The parking lot along the channel is privately owned and visitors will need to pay if they park there. Print and copy as many as you need.
Cancellations
Cancellations received by April 23, 2016, are subject to a 15% service charge. Cancellations received after April 23 will be charged the entire registration fee, but substitutions are always welcome.
Lodging
A block of eight rooms have been reserved at the Channel Lodge, 205 N. First St., La Conner, for $149 plus tax.
A block of 22 rooms have been reserved at the Country Inn, 107 S. Second St., La Conner, for $119 plus tax.

Field Trip
Transportation and lunch/beverage is provided for the Saturday tour. The tour will require some walking on uneven terrain. Wear appropriate closed-toe shoes or boots, and bring rain gear and a jacket. The tour leaves promptly at 9:00 a.m. from the Channel Lodge and will return by 2:00 p.m.

SAF CFE Credits Available
By attending this meeting participants will be eligible for 15.5 Category 1 CFE credits by the Society of American Foresters.

Cost to exhibit is $250 and includes the following:
- Vendor booth and one complimentary registration that includes Thursday's icebreaker, and Friday breakfast, lunch, and Awards Banquet.
- A 6-foot display table with tablecloth (if needed)
- An electrical supply; numerous plug-ins are available along the room perimeter.
- Additional attendees can be added at a cost of $100/person.
Raffle to Support the WSSAF Foundation
This year’s annual meeting will feature a raffle to support the WSSAF Foundation. This Foundation was created to provide scholarships for forestry students and support other forestry education projects. If you can bring a donation for the raffle (e.g., clothing, product, etc.) it would be greatly appreciated.
