2016-17 POSTS are slow. Remember POSTS represent speculation sowing, inventory overruns and landowner surplus. POSTS for overruns and surpluses will begin to appear in late January.  You can check frequently for new POSTS. Follow this link Search Seedlings and page down to see summaries of current POSTS in date order. Click "View Details" for additional information on the POSTS. If the list is two long use the Search boxes to find seedlings that fit your planting site. Call the contact person to ask questions and order.

Wildland cone crops were good to very good for the NW region. Cone collectors and major landowners conducted large picking programs. Cone processors will be busy for several months. This is good for small forest land owners as seed reserves were very low.

There is a new option for landowners to contract for growing seedlings. SAPLINGS is a new all-inclusive, web-based business that allows small land owners to plan for their reforestation needs by ordering the trees they want, when they want them.  You can order now for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Check out their website http://www.mysaplings.com.   Keep in mind, order soon to allow time for the seed to be stratified for sowing.  Depending on the species it can take 60 days or more.

Growers! Current Seedling requests - Oregon - Grand fir zone 251, North California  Coast Redwood, Port Orford cedar; Christmas trees Nordmann fir and noble fir.

Thanks for using FSN for your seedling needs.
